"Camelot Castle Hotel has to be the most unique hotel in the world. As we entered Tintagel we spotted the hotel which lit up the skyline radiating a warm glow. This warm glow was to remain with us for the duration of our stay. The welcome we received from the reception staff the minute we walked through the door was professional and sincere - it was obvious that they were proud of the hotel. The owners personally greeted us and they even introduced their two gorgeous labradors to Molly my collie dog. The whole ambience of the hotel was incredible. Real fires, big comfy sofas, relaxing music, soft lighting, candles and lots of orginal artwork by Ted Stourton, one of the owners. The restaurant and bar staff were very professional and attentive, yet unobstrusive. And the chefs must be congratulated on the dinner menu. It was difficult to choose from the varied menu. Dinner was simply delicious and beautifully presented. In the morning we met some of the housekeeping team, who like the staff we'd met the night before were professional and friendly and made a great fuss of my dog. It was absolutely wonderful to spend a night in a hotel where my dog was made to feel as welcome as me (she was allowed everywhere apart from the restaurant) and where the owners took the time and trouble to chat to us and tell us about the hotel. Ted even showed us his art collection and the 'light box' - truly amazing. Camelot Castle Hotel should be experienced by everyone. Our only regret was that we were only there for one night. But - we will definitely be back." A A
"We wanted to stay somewhere in England for our 10th anniversary where
neither of us had been, and boy did this hotel fit the bill! Great food, lovely
polite staff and huge rooms to stretch out in made our 3 day stay wonderful. One
of the owners is famous artist Ted Stourton, who took a delight in showing us
around his collection, many examples of which adorne the walls. There
is also plenty to do around the area including the "Eden Project" Bodmin Jail
and the witches museum in Boscastle. We will be going back, and we
strongly urge anyone to stay in the hotel, if you like something very
different."
"My Partner and I stayed at Camelot Castle for two nites in November I have
to let you know that if your tired feeling exhausted from a busy lifestyle, this
is the place the service is next to none the food divine and the welcome we
recieved made our stay truly amazing, the smell of log fires, the sense of pure
history in the making, the scenery all around you, I feel not to tell my friends
as I would like to keep Camelot for myself, but I cannot it is an
experience to be shared."
"We popped into this hotel during
night and couldnt believe how amazing the location was when we woke up. We
had a great, new refurbished room with a full sized bath and an amazing
view on the ocean. .
The Hotel has its own characteristics, a luxury dining and breakfast (delicious breakfast) room, a living room area with several fireplaces and and and..all off them combined with the awareness of the history of this building. Several rooms are not refurbished yet but this is in progress. And for guests with a foible for art it is worth to stay!"
